PRACTICERT Accreditation and Certification of Work Related Qualifications during Job Placements
a Leonardo project No EUR/00/C/P/PP/94425 (2000 – 2006)
The project aims to provide easily comprehensible statements of work-related skills mastered during placements in the form of certification profiling. This accreditation procedure will enable future employers to recognise the specific skills, knowledge and competence acquired by young people during work placements abroad.
Research on quality criteria related to work placements abroad and similar LEONARDO projects were examined, former trainees were brought together and interviewed. The partnership examined own and other evaluative materials and the modified evaluation sheets for LEONARDO mobility programmes used by CGIL in their series of work placements abroad.
Materials produced which raise the awareness of trainees and trainers before, during and after placements abroad. These provide basis for certification of increase in new competences gained, compiled in "PRACTIFOLIO".
Field testing of PRACTIFOLIO materials in DE, FR, IT after consultations with experts.
20 in-depth video recordings using the PRACTIFOLIO materials were made of trainees.

- PRACTIFOLIO, available in English, French, German, Italian and Spanish is a system for recording attainments in three areas: personal growth and increased competence in social skills and intercultural understanding; vocational skills; the language profile of the owner of a PRACTIFOLIO.
- A research project was conducted by the University of Paris VI on the impact of the intercultural aspect of PRACTIFOLIO.
- The system of language profiling and certifying work-related competence in foreign languages developed by the ICC, the "European Vocational Qualifications (Languages)", was translated into French and Italian, and the scoring system modified for the target groups of PRACTICERT.
- Handbook on the use of the PRACTIFOLIO materials and evaluation techniques was designed.
- Materials developed for pre-departure training to raise the awareness of trainees to cultural elements / prejudices.
