QAS Accreditations in 2007

The Language Commission, IDEA sagl, Contone, Switzerland who in collaboration with the Swiss Federation for Adult Learning on a mandate from the Federal Office of Public Health have developed Language Examinations for Community Interpreters which after appraisal by experts appointed by the ICC - European Language Network are recognised as exemplars of Quality and Best Practice, particularly with regard to:

  • relevance and authenticity of content
  • transparency in assessing competence
  • development of CEFR descriptors
  • selection and trainning of examiners
  • accessibility

Our 2 member organisations Hanoi University in Vietnam and University of Westminster in UK received together with Dublin City University in Ireland and Xiamen University in China, The Certificate of Quality and Best Practice for their Interpreting Asia Interpreting Europe DVD training materials for access to liaison interpreting skills in English-Vietnamese and English-Chinese, particularly with regard to:

  • pedagogical value for trainers and trainees
  • relevance
  • accessibility for non-specialists
  • technical production

QAS Accreditations in 2006

Our Italian organisation CLIDA received The Certificate of Quality and Best Practice for examinations in Italian as a foreign language corresponding to levels A1-C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference in particularly with regard to: 

  • Standards and procedures
  • Validity and reliability in assessing language proficiency
Our Greek organisation PALSO received The Certificate of Quality and Best Practice for English Examinations corresponding to levels pre-A1, A1, A2,  B1 and B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference in particularly with regard to:
  • Standards and procedures
  • Validity and reliability in assessing language proficiency
  • A close relationship of the examinations at levels pre-A1, A1, A2, B1 and B2 to the corresponding levels of the Council of Europe Common European Framework of Reference

Our Swiss partner organisation FLYING TEACHERS received The Certificate of Quality and Best Practice for their on-site language teaching programmes in particularly with regard to:

  • Communication with staff and clients
  • Customer feedback systems
  • Client administration
